About The Pastor

Evasco_edited_edited.jpg

Pastor Mark and Yoshiko Evasco are Filipino missionaries to Japan. Last April 2024, they arrived in Japan and worked in Inage Bible Baptist Church, serving faithfully until the Lord called them to lead Kibou Baptist Church, formerly led by Dr. Nick Zarella.

Pastor Mark got saved at the age of 6 as her Mom shared to her about the Gospel. By age 16, in his final year of High School, he attended a Youth Camp, heard a message that would lead him to surrender his life to God. He started studying Bachelor of Arts in Communication at a private school in the Philippines, when he received a clear calling from the Lord to serve Him in the church, and entered Baptist Bible College in preparation for his calling. By age 21, he graduated and served the Lord full-time in the church.

He also helped a church in Vietnam for 3 1/2 years. After that, he went back to the Philippines where God called him to be a missionary to Japan, where his father worked as an engineer in Yokohama for 15 years. In 2022, he was sent out by Bethany Baptist Church as a missionary to Japan. In 2023, he and sis. Yoshiko got married. And by April 2024, they landed in Japan to start the work God called them to do.

Pastor Mark has a heart for music. He sings and also plays both the piano and flute. He also has a passion to teach. Sis. Yoshiko, an Education teacher by profession, also likes to sing and play the violin, and knows Filipino sign language. One of their long-term desires is to start a Christian School in Japan, following what the Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 to "train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."
